Diplomate in Clinical Social Work (DCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Therapy starts where you are and where you came from then finding your individual path to where you want to be!
I have 33 years of clinical experience, working with clients from the age of 8 to 65, I also work with couples, and families. I am second generation LSCSW. I enjoy working with a wide variety people. I feel it is important to have knowledge of knowing where a client has been as well where they are now. I approach treatment as a collaborative process. I tailor my approach to each person as an individual. Through my 33 years I have studied and learned many different forms of therapy. I was initially trained in cognitive behavioral methods. My most lengthy training was in Strategic Family Therapy. My favorite couples therapist is John Gottman. I have read his books (not all them, but more than one). These are the core and the foundation the rest of my skills and training have built upon. I come from the perspective of understanding each client as an individual living in their unique environment. When therapy stalls or certain therapeutic strategies are not working it is my job and passion to find one that works for you. Not one approach is best for everyone. One of the most important things I tell new clients your fit with whoever your therapist is critical to success. No one can be the perfect match for everyone. If you find I am not your cup of tea let me know and we will work to find you a therapist that is.
