I am a psychotherapist who specializes in working with the parent-child relationship throughout the lifespan. Specifically, I work with individuals who are seeking to make meaning of their family-of-origin experiences. I use a person-centered approach which borrows from attachment theory. I seek to provide a safe space where individuals can explore relational patterns in the context of a warm, caring therapeutic alliance. I bring 30 years of experience working with youth in various settings as well as a deep desire to learn of the obstacles that keep adults, couples, and families from thriving. I work with children, adolescents, parents, and families who have experienced relational trauma in some manner. Additionally, I supervise residents in counseling through the Harrisonburg Center for Relational Health (www.relationalhealth.net).I also provide clinical supervision for therapists from the Secure Child In-Home Program, an attachment-focused, home-based intervention.
