Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
My clients are children, teens, and families seeking healing, understanding, and growth.
Hi, I’m so glad you’re here! Can’t wait to meet you and help you discover how strong, resilient, and capable you really are. I believe healing happens best when people feel truly seen, understood, and respected—within the context of their culture, identity, and lived experience. I’m Gabi, a bilingual, trauma-informed Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families across outpatient, medical, school, home, and community-based settings. I hold a Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology: Prevention & Treatment from the University of Washington, and my work is grounded in evidence-based practice, relational safety, and equity-centered care. Amara Therapy is rooted in the belief that healing begins with learning to "love your mind" + "heal with grace". This philosophy guides how I approach therapy—honoring the complexity of each person’s story while creating space for growth without shame, urgency, or judgment. I strive to help clients understand their minds with compassion, develop practical skills for change, and move forward in ways that feel aligned, empowering, and sustainable. My therapeutic approach blends structure with warmth. I primarily use CBT-based frameworks while integrating trauma-responsive, developmentally appropriate, and culturally affirming interventions tailored to each client’s needs. I specialize in working with youth and families navigating emotional and behavioral challenges, mood and personality concerns, childhood trauma, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and the impacts of systemic and generational stressors—particularly within historically marginalized communities. What makes my practice unique is my commitment to collaboration and empowerment. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” someone—it’s about building insight, skills, and self-trust while honoring each client’s strengths, identity, and lived experience. I value transparency, authenticity, and meeting clients where they are, while gently challenging patterns that no longer serve them. With experience in individual and group therapy, diagnostic assessment, crisis intervention, positive parenting strategies, and care coordination, I offer support that is both compassionate and practical. I am especially passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ youth, neurodivergent individuals, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Whether you’re seeking support for your child, your family, or yourself, my goal is to walk alongside you with care and intention—helping you build understanding, resilience, and healing rooted in grace.
