Erin Spear
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
New Leaf Behavioral Health: Making mental health care affordable and accessible for all.
Erin is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with 10 years experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings. Erin believes that everyone has the ability to make positive changes in their lives and focuses on a collaborative relationship to provide tools to enable and empower people to work toward growth. She focuses on a therapeutic relationship that develops personal strengths to support and sustain improved emotional health. Erin believes it is a therapist’s responsibility to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment in which emotional issues may be explored and addressed and the client’s responsibility to be present and active in identifying and exploring barriers to emotional balance. Erin uses primarily Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and structural approaches, but also techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), person-centered techniques, play therapy, and feminist theory.
