Supporting youth and young adults aged 6 to 24 as they navigate the complexities of identity and independence is a primary focus for Dr. Erin Haven. She believes that human relationships are fundamental to our existence, with early interactions, biology, and learning experiences forming the basis for how we perceive ourselves and the world. While these formative years are influential, Dr. Haven maintains that they do not have to define a person's future. Based in Ventura, California, she assists clients in understanding themselves more deeply to reach personal goals such as resolving trauma, enhancing self-esteem, improving relational dynamics, and establishing a clear sense of purpose. Dr. Haven earned her PhD in clinical psychology from Seattle Pacific University. Her extensive clinical training includes an internship at Prairie View, Inc. and the University of Kansas, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families. She treats a diverse range of clinical concerns, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, PTSD, and school avoidance. Additionally, she works with individuals facing emotional or behavioral dysregulation, social difficulties, self-injury, and parent-child relationship issues, as well as those overcoming educational and vocational roadblocks. In her practice, Dr. Haven emphasizes the importance of customizing treatment to meet the unique requirements of every individual. She frequently integrates evidence-based modalities into her care, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), family therapy, mindfulness, and parenting skills training. By providing a supportive environment, she helps patients develop more effective coping strategies for managing overwhelming emotions and fostering long-term stability.
