Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
I enjoy working with creative people from age 18 onward. Most of my clients are artists; many are introverts. Several are from other cultures
My practice focuses on helping people with anxiety, depression and mood disorders PTSD; individuation within the framework of psychodynamic psychotherapy. I enjoy working with people from the age of 18+ both individuals and couples and people involved in the arts. Childhood experiences and relationships with an individual's family of origin influence an individual's personality and provides a template for future relationships. It can therefore be fruitful to understand via therapy that your family relationships are not destiny. I believe that therapy is a psychological and spiritual journey, requiring empathy, patience, and validation of feelings. In addition to my Master's degree in Psychiatric Nursing from Boston College, I am a graduate of the three year advanced training program at the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy and the two year program the the Psychoanalytic Couples and Family Institute of New England. Though I am advanced practice nurse, I do not prescribe. As an artist (photography), I find it enriching to incorporate poetry, literature, song lyrics into therapy as a metaphor for understanding peoples' issues. Many of my clients are artists and introverts.
