ADHD and neurodivergence-affirming therapy for college students navigating anxiety, overwhelm, relationships, identity, and life transitions.

I work with college students and young adults who may look like they’re doing fine on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or exhausted trying to keep everything together. Many of the people I work with have ADHD, are autistic or otherwise neurodivergent, struggle with perfectionism or executive functioning, or are navigating major changes in relationships, identity, school, work, or family. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, practical, and neurodivergence-affirming. I don’t believe therapy should be about trying to make you fit someone else’s idea of how you’re “supposed” to function. Instead, we work together to understand how your brain works, what gets in your way, and what strategies actually make sense for your life. Sessions can include practical work around motivation, procrastination, organization, emotional regulation, anxiety, boundaries, communication, and relationships, while also making room to explore the deeper patterns underneath them. I often work with people who have spent years feeling like they should be trying harder, doing better, or somehow be different than they are. Therapy can be a place to replace some of that shame and self-criticism with greater understanding and more effective ways of moving forward. I also enjoy working with clients navigating religious trauma or changes in faith, complicated family relationships, anger, identity questions, and the transition into adulthood and greater independence. I try to be an active and genuine therapist rather than someone who simply listens and nods. I’ll ask questions, help you notice patterns, offer ideas and concrete strategies when they’re useful, and work with you to figure out what actually helps. My goal is for therapy to feel like a place where you can be yourself, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and leave with a clearer understanding of yourself and what to do next.
