Psychologist
The first priority in my practice is to explore what it is like to be you, so that we can uncover and knock down any obstacles to your own validation.
If you struggle with being good enough, or life has left you feeling anxious, depressed or traumatized, then I'd love to talk with you. I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy informed by Zen and Stoic principles to help clients grow through anxiety and depression. As a clinical psychologist with 20 years of working with individuals in various settings, I can draw upon experiences working in various settings including psychiatric hospitals, children's hospitals, military hospitals, community health centers, outpatient clinics, and maximum security settings. My practice is process oriented, which means we try to notice what's going on with you and identify forces and/or patterns of which you may be unaware. Cognitive Behavior Therapy points out there is a ton of power in the frames we use to think about our problems, and we try on different frames to help empower clients. Concepts that will come up in our conversations are validation, creativity, empowerment, mindfulness, acceptance, accountability, living in the here and now, boundaries, and knowing your values and preferences.
