(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
I hold a safe space for all identities that centers their innate strengths, the importance of self-compassion, and addresses the impact of past trauma.
As a licensed clinical social worker I am trained to recognize and address the unique stressors that are placed on college students by society, stress that is compounded by the intersection of their identities. As a trained EMDR therapist, I am particularly passionate about supporting people in their efforts to heal from trauma- any event that was overwhelming and continues to trigger an individual, which can lead to negative self- beliefs and/or on-going symptoms negatively impacting daily functioning. During therapy I typically focus on providing coping skills, education on emotional awareness/ intelligence, increasing a client's self-compassion, and processing past negative experiences/ beliefs. I specifically use methods and theories from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and EMDR. Throughout therapy I welcome feedback and strive to focus sessions on the client's goals.
