I look forward to the opportunity to help you move through the transition from family life to independence through your years at UVA!
I am a child, adolescent, and family psychologist and Past-President of the Virginia Academy of Clinical Psychologists. I offer both individual and family therapy with an appreciation of a family systems perspective. My niche practice is divorce adjustment - consulting with parents regarding how to help themselves and their children through this process, including training and expertise in the relatively kind and gentle process of Collaborative Divorce; and, following divorce, supporting children in the middle and parents who are trying to work together to successfully coparent their children. In addition to the management of stress in adjusting to the college experience, college students can be very affected by issues on the home front and they will benefit from support and stress management through this trying transition point within the family. In my 30+ years of practice and association work, the common target of our intervention efforts truly is RESILIENCE - that ability to tolerate challenge and adversity, however it looks, with strength and purpose to an end that works! I look forward to the work with you!
