Integrative psychiatric care for anxiety, depression, eating disorders, ADHD, trauma, and mood disorders. I welcome & affirm clients of all identities

I am looking forward to meeting you. My name is Carolyne Mburu-Gerena, PMHNP-BC, and I am the founder of Mind Garden Mental Health Services. I provide evidence-based psychiatric care for teens and adults, with a focus on anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, and mood disorders. I often work with students navigating academic pressure, life transitions, identity development, and the emotional demands of college life. My approach to care is collaborative and thoughtful. I believe mental health treatment works best when individuals feel heard, respected, and involved in decisions about their care. I take time to understand the full picture - not just symptoms - including stress, sleep, relationships, and daily functioning. When medication is part of treatment, it is used intentionally and carefully, with ongoing check-ins and shared decision-making. I value collaboration with counseling services and therapists and see psychiatric care as a complement to the work already being done in therapy. Continuity of care is important to me, especially for students who may feel overwhelmed navigating multiple systems. My goal is to help make care feel more connected and manageable. Mind Garden Mental Health Services is a telehealth-based practice, offering flexibility and accessibility while maintaining high clinical standards. I strive to create a calm, non-judgmental space where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and engaging openly in treatment. I welcome and affirm clients of all identities and backgrounds in my practice. I am committed to providing inclusive, respectful care and supporting students at all stages of their mental health journey.
