Caroline Yang

Dr. Caroline Yang exclusively evaluates new pediatric and adolescent patients, offering morning appointments for families in Los Angeles. Providing mental health care since 2014, she is double board-certified in General Psychiatry and the subspecialty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Yang is dedicated to creating a clinical space defined by respect and understanding, where she partners closely with parents to advocate for their child’s unique needs. Her holistic approach considers the whole person, integrating family dynamics and cultural identity with evidence-based therapy and conservative medication management when appropriate. To ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal outcomes, Dr. Yang conducts comprehensive evaluations over multiple sessions and offers weekly therapy to build trusting relationships with those in her care. She has developed special clinical interests in emotional regulation, self-esteem, emotional sensitivity, and the navigation of intergenerational experiences. Her practice is also informed by a deep commitment to social justice, environmental respect, and education that encourages curiosity. Dr. Yang earned her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Biology from Johns Hopkins University before completing her fellowship at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center. She is certified in UCLA PEERS (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) and has participated in the UCLA Parent Training Program. Her therapeutic work incorporates modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Therapy, and parenting skills. Outside of her clinical work, she finds balance through dancing, appreciating wildlife, creative activities, and spending time with her rescue pets.
