Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
Hello and welcome to my practice, I'm a GWU graduate that is specialized in working with eating disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and chronic pain.
I am licensed clinical professional counselor coming to Monarch Wellness and Psychotherapy with five years of experience working in the field of eating disorders within several inpatient and outpatient settings. I am extensively trained in the treatment of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant-restrictive food intake disorder, disordered eating, mood disorders, trauma, adolescent/young adult concerns, family discord, and attachment disorders. After receiving my masters degree in clinical mental health Counseling at The George Washington University, I have worked at The Renfrew Center of Bethesda as both a primary therapist and a team leader. I truly believe that therapy is a brave and courageous choice. I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and safe environment for each client that chooses to work with me. I have a special expertise working with both adolescents and adults with mood disorders. Together, our relationship will be used as an element of change. Often, I will utilize aspects of our relationship to highlight barriers to change and provide a warm and directive approach to push you towards growth. Whatever reason you are seeking therapy, I find it a privilege that you are choosing to share your emotions with me. I will commonly utilize interventions from mindfulness, motivational interviewing, the unified protocol, attachment theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy to help you understand the functional purpose of your emotions.
