I am passionate about helping people go from living to simply survive to living to thrive

I am owner and founder of New Leaf Counseling of the River Valley, an outpatient mental health clinic located in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I am a bilingual mental health therapist, proficiently speaking both English and Spanish languages. I am licensed in the state of Arkansas, and am also recognized as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I am an Advanced Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (ACCTS), have completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and am also a Certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapist (EMDR-CT). I received my Master of Science in Marriage and Family therapy with an emphasis in Community Health Counseling from John Brown University in 2016, yet have worked in the field since 2013. I am passionate about meeting clients where they are in life, providing them with support, guiding them through their process, giving them the tools for success, and strengthening the support systems in their lives in order to help them meet their therapeutic goals and objectives, as well as helping them bring out the best version of themselves. I encourage clients to explore and process emotions, thoughts, and experiences, considering social/cultural differences, and implement appropriate approaches in order to alleviate/resolve distress, and help them find direction in their life. Helping people live a better life is what drives me. It might mean having to face the past head on, working through a loss, or life transition, or helping you change a pattern of behavior that keeps you stuck. My goal is to help you feel better so you can live the life youʼve always dreamed of! Contact me today and weʼll get started on your journey together!
