Brittany Sturgeon, a dedicated Counselor in Fort Collins, Colorado, provides a welcoming and down-to-earth environment for clients seeking support with a wide array of mental health and behavioral concerns. Originally from rural Nebraska, Brittany’s journey to the clinical field included earning an associate degree from Front Range Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University in 2020 and a Master of Addiction Counseling in Psychology (MACP) in 2022. Her professional background is enriched by experience working in an inpatient mental health facility and years in the service industry. Brittany serves a diverse population, welcoming clients of nearly any age, including children under 5, preteens, teens, young adults, and adults. Her clinical expertise covers specialty areas such as alcohol and substance use issues, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and childhood behavior issues. She also supports individuals dealing with grief, hoarding, PTSD/trauma, school avoidance, women's issues, relational and family struggles, and challenges with aggression. By viewing the therapeutic relationship as a true partnership, Brittany works to help her clients gain the necessary strength and knowledge to thrive. Her patient-centered care approach is highly individualized, adapting modalities from session to session based on a client’s specific needs. She utilizes evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Parenting Skills. Brittany is committed to creating a calming office space that moves away from the historically impersonal feel of therapy, ensuring clients feel safe to express themselves openly. Whether addressing current struggles or past experiences, she believes in the value of having a supportive listener to help foster personal growth. Outside of her clinical practice in Colorado, Brittany enjoys engaging in reading, gardening, and various craft projects.
