I have always been fascinated with how our family system shapes us. So as your therapist, I will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy mixed with your family history (i.e. who raised you, what it was like growing up, etc.) to help you understand how and why you show up the way you do with yourself and in your relationships. Many of our patterns and habits are shaped by how we grew up so when we take a deeper look at this, we can understand why we are the way we are. When clients are not interested in using their family system as a window into what is happening, that's okay, I just adjust my style as your therapist accordingly to meet your needs!
