Austin Coffey-Moore
(He/Him/His)
Counselor
My goal is to provide a safe, accepting, and validating space for you to feel supported in therapy.
Austin takes a primarily person-centered and collaborative approach to therapy that includes acceptance, empathic understanding, and a non-judgemental stance. He believes that oftentimes people need a safe and comfortable space to process their thoughts and emotions in order to address the problems in their life. Every individual has their own unique problems and ways of thinking. That is why Austin uses an integrative approach that is adapted to his client’s specific needs. He utilizes a combination of treatment modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), narrative therapy, and family systems therapy. Austin is competent in both individual and couples therapy. He has worked with a wide variety of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, stress, racial identity, relationship issues, and life transitions. As a Black therapist, Austin understands the significance of identity and how marginalized populations must navigate a society that is not supportive or inclusive of their differences. Austin is passionate about providing culturally competent therapy services to all diverse populations.
