Dr. Ashly Gaskin-Wasson provides competent, caring, and ethical psychotherapy and assessments. She works with individuals with a broad range of mental health concerns (such as adjustment to major life stress and transitions, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, etc.), and has a specialization in working with adults (including Veterans) who have experienced or witnessed trauma. She also has a passion for working with clients who have experienced race-related stress and trauma (RST), and consulting for organizations that aim to address RST. Dr. Gaskin-Wasson obtained her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and earned both her M.A. and Ph.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Emory University School of Medicine/Grady Memorial Hospital and her postdoctoral fellowship at the Durham VA Medical Center. She has served on the teaching, clinical, and research faculties at UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke University Medical Center, and UNC-Greensboro. When she is not working, you can find her spending time with her family, cooking and eating new dishes, and trying to predict the endings to good movies and shows.
