Dr. Angel Dowden provides culturally competent counseling to individuals, couples and families to meet the diverse needs of the client population served.
Dr. Angel Dowden, LCMHC-S, NCC, ACS earned her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision at North Carolina State University. Angel provides therapeutic support to clients at Core Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. Angel has 20+ years of experience in counseling and counselor education. Angel works with all age groups, and has a particular interest in women’s issues (e.g. work-life balance, care-taking, parenting, and relationships). Angel utilizes a diverse theoretical approach; relying on: Narrative/Talk Therapy, Person Centered, Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Counseling, Motivational Interviewing, and spirituality in counseling. In her spare time, Angel enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, gardening, and traveling.
