Affirming support for professionals and university students facing burnout, navigating change, and wanting to reconnect with purpose and well-being.

I am the founder of Desired Futures Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. I work with values-driven individuals, couples, and other relationships who want to focus on the present and future while honoring and learning from the past. Many of the clients I support are organizational leaders, educators, veterinary and healthcare professionals, and University students in the Champaign-Urbana area and across Illinois via telehealth who are experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, secondary trauma, moral distress, and emotional exhaustion. I understand the challenges of navigating systems that may not prioritize people or value diverse perspectives, and I recognize how chronic exposure to system issues while holding core values like excellence, justice, and integrity can drive patterns of overwork, stress, and strained relationships, contributing to burnout and feeling disconnected. At the core of my work is a strengths-based and values-based approach. The work here is relational, grounded in presence, meaning, and connection. My approach is neurodivergent- and LGBTQ+ affirming, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented, especially suited for action-oriented, values-driven individuals who want to focus on the present and future while honoring and learning from past experiences.‍ I draw from less pathologizing, evidence-informed modalities, including Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Harm Reduction, and Motivational Interviewing. I believe that dedicated time and space for reflection, connection, and care are essential to living a life aligned with your values. Our time together is about empowering you to choose what you really want out of life with clarity, confidence, and purpose. We slow down, quiet the inner critic, strengthen emotional capacity, and reconnect with your inner wisdom and senses. I support you in navigating these challenges with practical strategies, reflection, and care. Whether you are addressing deep-rooted wounds, navigating life or career transitions, fostering personal growth, or enhancing communication, intimacy, and resilience in your relationships, you can expect a safe, affirming space. Here, intersectionality is recognized, lived experience is honored, values are clarified, and desired futures are felt.
