Dr. Amar Arafat, DO, completed his residency in the Psychiatry Residency Program at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. He holds a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from North Carolina State University (NCSU) and earned his medical degree from Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine (CUSOM). Throughout his academic and professional journey, Dr. Arafat has been deeply committed to community service and mental health advocacy and excellence, as he was a Goodnight Scholar while at NCSU and received the Distinguished Clinical Scholar Award for psychiatry in the Raleigh region in 2020 while at CUSOM. During his residency, Dr. Arafat maintained exceptional standards of care, consistently receiving high praise from patients for his empathetic and effective treatment approaches. His approach is grounded in a comprehensive understanding of diverse obstacles and mental health challenges, combined with utilization of medication management when necessary.
