Allison Grubbs
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Other
As an experiential therapist, I work with you to create lasting healing through the power of connection and truly being seen.
I was previously a high school art teacher after graduating from the NCSU College of Design in 2004. The experience of being a teacher and working with my students, really led me to becoming a therapist. I have a very relational style of therapy, bringing both my training in attachment-based experiential models as well as cognitive behavioral models into my work with clients. I was trained by Dr. Brené Brown in 2013 and her research influences my work immensely. I love working with young and emerging adults, as well as educators. I have a special interest in working with people who have struggled in their relationships and often feel like they're pursuing while others are withdrawing. I also often work with people who struggling to feel at ease or often feel alone. I'm also passionate about working with those who are not where they want to be in life, whether that's not being in a relationship, not having children, or just feeling like you're behind your peers.
