I provide psychotherapy to individuals who are struggling with depression and/or anxiety and want to gain better insight and learn effective coping skills

I believe that individual therapy begins by developing trust, a sense of security, and empathic understanding. Through this relationship, I help individuals gain insight into the origins of their problems, the contributing factors, and how to alleviate emotional distress. I use cognitive behavioral techniques to assist the individual in changing unhealthy thought patterns and learning more effective coping strategies. Gaining understanding, acceptance, responsibility, and confidence are often a part of the therapeutic process. I enjoy working with young adults and older adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and/or mood swings. I have a PhD in Counselor Education with a specialization in Clinical Psychology. I have over twenty years of experience of helping men and women learn to understand and better manage their emotions, thoughts and behaviors. I have experience in psychiatric and outpatient settings. I conduct comprehensive evaluations, provide short and long term therapy, and work collaboratively with clients.
