My journey into mental health began with a deep curiosity about human resilience and the power of connection. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Arizona State University and am currently at the University of Southwest. This unique interdisciplinary background allows me to approach mental health from both a biological and behavioral perspective, giving me a well-rounded foundation to understand and address the complexities of human experience. As a therapist intern, I am deeply passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges. My primary goal is to offer the best support possible, which starts by building a genuine, meaningful connection with each client. I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, where we work together to explore and address difficulties they are facing. To ensure a comprehensive experience, I plan to integrate a variety of therapeutic theories and evidence-based practices, providing clients with a diverse set of tools and strategies to help them thrive. I am committed to fostering a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, valued, and understood. My role extends beyond active listening -- I strive to be a sounding board and confidant, helping clients explore their feelings and experiences freely. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is rooted in trust and open communication. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, with a strong focus on motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy (SFT), and mindfulness. These approaches will allow me to address a wide range of issues while remaining flexible and adaptable to the unique needs of each client.
