Helping children, teens, and parents navigate anxiety, ADHD, and big emotions with compassion, clarity, and practical support.
Hello, I’m Alexis, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who works with children (as young as 5), teens, and parents. I specialize in supporting families navigating anxiety, ADHD, OCD-related concerns, and emotional regulation challenges. I offer both in-person and virtual therapy and take an individualized, collaborative approach to care. I believe mental health work is not about “fixing” someone, but about creating safety, understanding, and meaningful change -both internally and within relationships. Therapy can help children and teens better understand their emotions and reactions, while helping parents feel more confident, connected, and effective at home. With younger children, I often use Child-Centered Play Therapy, allowing kids to explore their inner world through play in a way that feels natural and non-threatening. For older children and teens, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and exposure-based strategies to reduce anxiety, increase flexibility, and build confidence. Parent involvement is often an essential part of the work I do. When anxiety or OCD is a primary concern, I frequently work with parents using the SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) approach - an evidence-based model that helps parents make supportive changes that lead to lasting improvement. I also provide psychoeducation and neuro-affirming strategies for parents of children with ADHD, focusing on strengthening connection, cooperation, and emotional regulation rather than compliance alone. I aim to create a therapeutic space that feels calm, supportive, and genuine. Progress doesn’t require having everything figured out - it begins with curiosity, compassion, and showing up. Whether your child is struggling, your family feels stuck, or you’re simply looking for guidance, therapy can be a place to slow down and find a clearer path forward.
