Alex Meyer

Hello! I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Stony Brook University - you may not have heard of it (I hadn't!), but it is actually ranked the the 3rd clinical program in the country, tied with Berkeley :) I completed my clinical internship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), focusing on anxiety and trauma in children, adolescents, and adults. The beginning of my career was primarily focused on the neuroscience of anxiety. I am passionate about addressing the growing mental health needs of children and adults through novel therapy intervention approaches. I currently have NSF and NIMH grants supporting my work to develop novel digital intervention approaches (here is an example!). I utilize my background in neuroscience research to develop new treatment approaches for children, adults (and parents!) to reduce the burden of stress and anxiety in life. I am currently an Associate Professor at Santa Clara University where I teach courses on psychotherapy and parenting. ​Both my research and clinical work has primarily focused on anxiety - both in adults and children. I LOVE helping anxious people!
