Alannah McCarthy-Slimak
(She/Her/Hers)
Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC), Hypnotherapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
I use a personalized approach tailored to my client's needs, drawing from CBT, EMDR, Integrative Mental Health, and Hypnotherapy.
Do you want to make significant, and real changes within your life? Do you want to understand yourself better, and focus on reconnecting with your own voice? Are you open to discussing how nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle changes can dramatically improve your life? I can help you with this and more. Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide-variety of issues, including Depression, Anxiety, Substance Use Disorders, Panic Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Phobias, Adult-Child-of-an-Alcoholic Issues, and many others. I have a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from The University of Akron, and am licensed both as a Professional Clinical Counselor, and Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor. I am also trained in Hypnotherapy, EMDR, and am certified in both Integrative Mental Health, and Cognitive Therapy, considered by many to be the most-effective therapy. As your therapist my main objective is to honor your individual goals, creating a personal approach to your therapy which allows you to reach your full potential in answering life's challenging questions. Along the way you will also learn new skills to re-awaken your inherent resilience. Let's get to work on creating a better and more fulfilled "you."
