Abimbola Akanji-Mapp

I am board-certified in both Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. I completed my residency in Adult Psychiatry at the University of Maryland Medical Center and my fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Additionally, I am certified by the Specialist Training Authority of the Medical Royal Colleges, UK, as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. With extensive experience in managing mental health concerns, I am dedicated to helping my patients lead healthy, balanced lives. My approach to patient care is bio-psychosocial, recognizing that mental well-being is influenced by various aspects of daily life. I am passionate about promoting mental health and well-being through individualized, comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care, in partnership with my patients and their families. I treat a range of conditions that may arise in childhood or impact emotional well-being in adulthood, including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, and bipolar disorder.
