Sarah Weintraub
(She/Her/Hers)
Psychologist
I value authenticity, humor, and a compassionate and research-based approach to helping you move towards positive change.
I am a psychologist with over 10 years of experience working in clinical and academic settings, including college counseling, community mental health, and hospital outpatient services. My approach is active, compassionate, and relational. I value authenticity in the therapy process and incorporate irreverence and humor when it makes sense. I balance a focus on the present with a focus on the past, given my understanding that our relationships and experiences across the lifespan affect our beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world. I use researched-based strategies that reduce emotional distress, increase active coping, and help you take steps that are in line with your values and goals. Towards that end, I incorporate cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and acceptance-based strategies, including mindfulness and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) techniques. I also offer trauma-focused treatment, including cognitive processing therapy (CPT). I welcome clients of all identities and backgrounds and value cultural humility, as well as a feminist understanding that we all exist in structures that privilege some and exclude others. I look forward to meeting you!
