Sara (CalmOCD) Brungardt
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
At CalmOCD we treat obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and phobias.
CalmOCD is a very action oriented treatment geared toward obtaining results, fast! Through Exposure-Response Prevention treatment, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, the OCD/anxiety sufferer begins to learn the problem with OCD is not in fact the anxiety, but the compulsive behavior. Patients learn they can tolerate distress and stop running away from their fears. CalmOCD is not a revolving-door type clinic. We develop a deep understanding of each patients' symptoms so individualized treatment can be developed. No two people are the same even if they're experiencing the same OCD subtype, which is why our approach is unique. When it comes to OCD and intrusive thoughts, there can be a lot of shame and guilt. Everyone has the right to receive exceptional care in a non-judgmental and compassionate setting. CalmOCD empowers individuals with the skills to manage unwanted thoughts, feelings of fear, uncertainty, and guilt/shame. While simultaneously working to eliminate rituals, reassurance seeking, and avoidance.
