Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)
My experience includes working with people with a variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and Marriage and Family issues.
I was drawn to a helping profession through my love of deep relationships. As a teen, I had a strong desire to understand myself and others. My desire to comprehend the mysteries of life and human behavior led me to study psychology and theology. I worked in Africa as a Peace Corp Volunteer, and I was a Youth and Associate Pastor for 15 years. I have been a licensed counselor for the last twelve years or so, working with both civilian and military families. All these experiences have given me and ability to come alongside people as they journey through the mountains and valleys of life. I have a passion for emotional healing which improves relationships and brings true happiness to our souls. I have been privileged to work with families, couples, and individuals from the youngest of children and teens, to adults of all ages. In my counseling relationships, I make use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT is a form of therapy that can be used to treat people with a wide range of mental health issues. It is based on the idea that how we think, how we feel, and how we act, all interact together. Our thoughts determine our feelings and behaviors. Exploring one’s thoughts and emotions can change one’s behaviors. I also have training in DBT. My work experience ranges from pastoral work to clinical counseling.
