Meghan Rauen
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), National Certified Counselor (NCC)
I am a LCMHC and NCC who loves working with a range of mental health needs. I completed my undergrad at UNC-CH and 2 Masters at WFU and love what I do!
I have clinical experience working with children, teens, adults, multicultural, and LGBTQ+ population struggling with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, PTSD, behavioral issues, academic/school problems, ADD/ADHD, sexual/gender identity issues, personality issues, domestic issues, adjustment issues, and health/medical issues. I also have expertise working with individuals of the Abrahamic traditions, folks from Jewish, Christian and Islamic faith traditions, and counseling for these faiths. My research and training center around bioethics, palliative care and clinical mental health with complex and terminal pediatric, neonatal patients, families, couples, and clinicians. I am also a certified bereavement doula through Stillbirthday and a certified hospice companion from Reiki Awakening Academy. I prefer to use Mindfulness, strength-based theories, play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt theories, and Motivational Interviewing when working with clients. I tailor my interventions based of client and family’s presenting needs and personalities. I do not ascribe to the mindset that “one size fits all” or even most and will be continually reviewing and assessing presenting needs and responses to adapt my interventions to suite your unique needs. I have experience with patient communication and advocacy integrative care, self-care, and inner-personal medical communications, grief therapy and trauma informed counseling.
