Julia Carter
Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Work (LSCSW)
My goal is to help you reconnect—with your body, desires, and your relationships—while navigating life’s challenges with resilience and self-compassion.
I work with adults and adolescents navigating eating disorders, self-esteem, and embodiment issues, and with individuals and couples seeking sex and relationship therapy. My practice is rooted in inclusivity and social justice, especially for those who identify as queer or neurodivergent. In a world that disconnects us from our bodies and authentic selves, it can be difficult to feel safe, present, and connected. My goal is to help you reconnect—with your body, your desires, and your relationships—while navigating life’s challenges with resilience and self-compassion. I offer a person-centered, trauma-informed approach for eating disorders, self-esteem, and embodiment issues. My work integrates DBT, the Embodied Recovery Model for Eating Disorders (ERED), and somatic interventions to help you achieve a healthier relationship with food and your body, and equip you with a robust toolkit for nervous system regulation. For sex and couples therapy, I provide a kink-aware, nonmonogamy-friendly space. I aim to help individuals and couples see themselves and others more clearly, identify their needs and desires, and safely explore their connections and relationship with self and others.
