Joanna Spangler
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC)
I am dedicated to fostering an environment of acceptance, respect, and understanding for all individuals seeking my support.
As a counselor, I view myself as a person-centered clinician who will take an integrative approach to each client. I believe it is important to meet clients where they are and that requires a variety of techniques and skills. I understand that the client is ultimately the expert in their own lived experiences, and it is my responsibility to adapt to their unique needs and purpose. As a standard of practice, I believe that acceptance, empathy, and understanding can be powerful tools in the counseling space, and offering the flexibility of a variety of resources is what I view as best practice. I will utilize an integrative approach that best supports the clients in their counseling journey this includes things like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and many others. I will use her own expertise and understanding to collaboratively create a plan for wellness that addresses the individual concerns of the client. I am passionate about providing resources and education to assist the counseling process and want to empower clients in their self-discovery. I practice trauma-informed, evidence-based care and will advocate for and alongside the client throughout treatment.
