Heidi Kaplan
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP)
I welcome clients struggling with a variety of issues, and tailor my approach toward healing with warmth and complete presence.
“When things are shaky and nothing is working, we might realize that we are on the verge of something." —Pema Chodron I am passionate about working with adults, teens, and adolescents, examining a wide range of issues through a person-centered and evidence-based lens. Whether suffering from trauma, grief, major life adjustments, anxiety and panic, or relational stressors, I will hold safe space for you while working collaboratively toward creating lasting change. It is my belief that approaching the experiences that have shaped us with a mindful curiosity is the bedrock of healing and empowerment, and I nurture an authentic and trusting therapeutic relationship while guiding this process. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University, and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University. Currently a Licensed Associate Counselor, I am also a Certified Child Life Specialist, addressing the psychosocial needs of hospitalized pediatric patients. I have specialized training in anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, Polyvagal Theory, and Exposure and Response Prevention for those struggling with phobias, panic and OCD. By taking a holistic and person-centered approach in her care, I utilize Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychoeducation, and Somatic Experiencing in my work, tailored to each client’s unique needs.
