My primary therapeutic approach is to create a space where clients can fully embrace their humanity, even in a world that often doesn’t make room for it.

I'm Gabby Oblena, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and a National Certified Counselor. My primary therapeutic approach is to create a space where clients can fully embrace their humanity, even in a world that often doesn’t make room for it. Together, we’ll meet you where you are. I specialize in helping clients navigate depression, anxiety, stress, identity exploration, and life transitions, drawing on experience from diverse settings including community mental health, advocacy, outpatient care, and youth services. I became a therapist to be the kind of person my younger self needed—someone who offers a safe space to feel deeply, embrace vulnerability, regulate overwhelming emotions, and nurture both self‐compassion and compassion for others. My hope is to be that person for my clients, maybe even for you. As a Filipina‐American and second‐generation immigrant, I also hold space for how culture and intergenerational trauma can shape mental health and identity.
