Derek Easley
(They/Them/Theirs)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
We provide professional & compassionate mental health services, along with expert advice at critical periods of development or life transition.
I have a relational approach to therapy and my work is informed by psychodynamic theories. I believe that long-term growth and change become a reality when we are able to make informed choices and discover greater authenticity in our daily lives. I believe that you can find immediate relief from some of your distress by using mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques. I have experience working with groups and individuals with mood and anxiety difficulties, personality disorders, histories of violence or trauma, anger management difficulties, and providing counseling for those receiving medical treatment for psychosis and substance use disorders. I can help with guiding you towards greater health and personal freedom, whether you are living with depression and anxiety, managing grief and loss, dissatisfied with your relationships, or feel like you need help during a difficult time in your life. I enjoy working with teenagers, young adults, and life-long learners. I can help you with issues of self-esteem, identity, gender, spirituality, sexuality, racial and cultural identity, independence, or interdependence. I attempt to create a safe and nonjudgmental environment so that you can work for the change you desire.
