Psychologist
Treating trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders and OCD using cognitive-behavioral principles, mindfulness training and a warm relational approach.
I specialize in the treatment of trauma, including recovery from acute traumatic events, experiences of chronic neglect or abandonment, and navigating long-term reactions to painful situations. I also specialize in treatment of eating disorders (e.g., BED, BN), emotional eating, body image concerns, weight-based stigma, and post-bariatric support. I treat mood disorders and anxiety, and have completed advanced certification for the treatment of trauma (i.e., Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure). I tailor my treatment to each patient's unique needs, with a focus on building a valued & meaningful life. I practice Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based treatment approach that blends traditional cognitive-behavioral principles & mindfulness training to help you learn to respond differently to difficult thoughts and feelings. ACT will help you learn to be present, open up, and do what matters to you in service of your goals and values. Through my training at Duke University and University of Pennsylvania, I have developed an approach to therapy that is flexible, patient-centered, authentic, and grounded in science.
