Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
It is an honor to walk this path with you
As a clinician, I embrace a humanistic perspective and primarily use person-centered approaches. A person-centered approach emphasizes the importance of the relationship between the client and therapist. Within the therapeutic alliance, individuals are able to confront their issues and meet their goals. I adapt the intervention to each individual, taking into account their family structure, culture, strengths, etc. When working with adolescents and adults that have experienced traumatic events, when appropriate, I may offer EMDR therapy to support reprocessing memories stored in a maladaptive way. This form of therapy is based on the adaptive information processing (AIP) model, which theorizes that traumatic memories can be reprocessed through bilateral stimulation, allowing the brain to integrate the memories. In my spare time I enjoy making pottery, travel, adding onto my sandtray space, and going on adventures with my 2 silly pugs.
