Psychologist, Sport Psychologist
Board-certified clinical and sport psychologist who specializes in trauma, addictions, sex and relationships, LGBTQ+ care, and sport/mental performance.
Welcome! I’m Dr. Tess Kilwein (she/they), a board-certified clinical, health, and sport psychologist based in Nashville, TN. I specialize in alcohol and substance use, LGBTQIA2S+ experiences, sex and relationships, sport and mental performance, and trauma and loss. I also work with many clients exploring their sociopolitical identities and sense of place in the world. Therapy with me integrates evidence-based approaches—like cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing—with affirming, trauma-informed care tailored to the unique needs of each person’s intersecting identities and lived experiences. While these are my specialty areas, I welcome individuals of all backgrounds and concerns. I look forward to working together.
