Tammy Clouzet
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
I’m a therapist and an artist and love to mix therapeutic art exercises with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy!
Tammy loves to create a safe space in sessions and enjoys helping clients work through issues such as anxiety, depression, communication, relationship struggles, and grief. She loves to use the CBT model, which challenges irrational beliefs that can cause or exacerbate mental health disorders. Once the faulty thought is identified, Tammy and the client work together to replace it with more rational narratives about what has happened to them. When we reframe or change the story in our head, our feelings and actions also change. As it is common to feel depressed about the past or anxious about the future, she loves teaching how to live more in the present so as not to miss out on what is currently happening. Focusing on being mindful by honing in on the 5 senses can immediately bring a sense of calm, teaching how to be more present in your relationships and in all other areas of your life. Tammy is also an artist and loves to activate the creative right side of the brain through easy art exercises to promote further healing. As our trauma experiences are stored in the brain’s right hemisphere, creating art can calm us and help us find the words to express our trauma.
