(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC)
At our practice, we believe deeply in destigmatizing and decolonizing mental health through culturally responsive and trauma informed practices.
Welcome! I’m Dr. Monica, a licensed counselor with a deep passion for helping individuals navigate the complexities of identity, belonging, and healing. I’ve worked in various mental health settings over the years, but my private practice is built on a commitment to offering culturally-informed care. My work primarily focuses on helping individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, particularly within the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities, explore their unique experiences with identity, trauma, and relationships. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, including working with complex trauma, PTSD, and racialized trauma. Drawing from my personal and professional experiences, I understand how significant cultural, generational, and familial influences can be in shaping mental health and well-being. My approach integrates mindfulness-based techniques, somatic interventions, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support clients in processing difficult emotions and experiences.
