Have you ever been unsure why you can’t seem to overcome the struggles you are having in your life? Perhaps you feel like you’ve tried everything and still don’t understand why you can’t calm down. You don’t know why you can't stop thinking, your heart races, or you have bad dreams. Or maybe you can guess why, but part of you doesn’t want to face it. Often, it feels like we have conflicting parts of ourselves that are wanting different things at the same time. Children as young as five years old have been shown to respond positively to learning about their brains and what to do when they feel “triggered” emotionally. It is never too late to learn what you weren’t taught as a child! I seek to help clients develop practical skills and tools to apply at home, while getting to know all of the parts that are at play. As an experiential therapist, I believe we become burdened through the negative experiences we have in life, and can heal through new, positive ones. I seek to create a trauma-informed, judgment free and safe environment for every person who walks into my office. Healing is all at once the most difficult, beautiful and important thing you can choose to do.
