Justin Ayre
(He/Him/His)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
I welcome and affirm clients of all identities and backgrounds in my practice. College is a time of growth, and I am here to help people through it.
Life is difficult. Sometimes we just need to know that we are heard, that our feelings are valid, that we deserve kindness. As a social worker and addictions counselor with more than 25 years of experience, I believe growth best takes root if first we accept ourselves just as we are. Using Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy modalities, I will encourage you to listen to yourself and to unlearn negative self-talk and patterns of behavior that are robbing you of peace and happiness. Your feelings matter. Learning self-care, kindness to self and healthy boundaries is a lifelong journey. I have a special interest working with young adults who are wrestling with depression, anxiety, codependence/adult child issues, divorce/relationship/dating issues, self-esteem, substance use/addiction, grief/loss, suicide, men’s issues, trauma, religious/spiritual abuse, work issues, and life transitions. I see clients both in person and virtually with morning and evening hours available. Breathe. Take time out for you. One step, one small shift at a time, you begin to create your own serenity in this ever-changing world.
