Julie McShane
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
I look forward to getting to know each of my clients, hearing their story and their concerns, and helping them find a way through their struggles.
I have been working in social services in various capacities of direct care with children and families for over 20 years, with the last 8 years being focused on young adults, children, and families. I utilize a broad range of therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of my client. I specialize in trauma disorders and anxiety, utilizing EMDR to help clients experience relief from their symptoms as soon as possible. I offer techniques that my clients can continue to use anywhere they are feeling distressing symptoms, so they can take control of their own symptoms and experience feelings of peace, relaxation, and calm as quickly as possible. I have extensive experience working with children of all ages and I think it is really important to share all of my knowledge and skills with parents who are needing help with dealing with struggles with their children. I believe we are all in this together and that we can help each other by sharing ideas and helping each other figure out what to do in situations where they feel lost or feel like nothing is working. I will sit with you and continue to offer ideas until we find something that will work for your child. There are a million ways to deal with every child scenario, and I will help you find a way that works for your child and feels consistent with your family's values.
