Jo Anna (Jo) Shotiveyaratana

My name is Jo Anna Shotiveyaratana (Sho for short). I am an experienced, Licensed Professional Counselor who practices an existential and multicultural approach to counseling. I have specialized in working with adolescents and adults, but I have experience working with people of all ages as well. Areas I work in include grief, anxiety, trauma, depression, substance abuse, spiritualism, and sexual identity (LGBTQ+ affirmative). My approach to counseling is grounded in compassion and understanding; I seek to cultivate a safe therapeutic environment to allow flexibility in exploring individual needs. The ultimate goal is to respectfully explore your human experience and discover a path of authenticity. Learning to cope with the human experience is a necessary foundation. Doing so helps people learn to manage their stressors in order to gain understanding of those behaviors that no longer serve them in a healthy way, leading to a potentially improved life experience and allowing them to move forward in their lives in alignment and confidence with their authentic self.
