*Mandy Thompson, PsyD, ABPP, is a licensed psychologist in the District of Columbia and Virginia, offering both in-person and telehealth services to clients across 40+ PSYPACT states. With more than 10 years of clinical experience, she provides individual and family therapy for diverse populations, including neurodivergent individuals. Mandy is an LGBTQ-affirming therapist who supports clients experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, OCD, and more. She offers convenient online scheduling, billing, and documentation for insurance reimbursement.* She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, health anxiety, and phobias such as fear of needles, vomiting (emetophobia), flying, heights, illness, or contamination. She also works with clients in challenging professional and academic environments who may feel anxious or overwhelmed to the point of avoidance, struggle with self-criticism, or fear they will not be successful without a punishing level of perfectionism. Many of her clients find themselves holding back from social situations, dating, public speaking, or professional opportunities due to fears that something will go wrong and that uncertainty feels intolerable. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and highly practical, helping clients live a life not constrained by fear. She draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—two of the most effective evidence-based treatments for anxiety, OCD, and phobias. She also integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic thinking, and supportive psychotherapy when helpful. Many clients understandably feel hesitant about facing their worries or phobias. In their work together, clients can expect to feel seen, supported, and encouraged as they pursue their goals at a pace that feels manageable.
