I help adults with trauma-related symptoms, including childhood and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, relational and interpersonal issues, and adjustment and transition concerns. I view therapy as a collaborative effort where we examine, identify, and understand how previous significant events and factors have contributed to present-day concerns and obstacles. I establish a warm, trusting, and validating relationship. From there, we develop insight into your problems, identify more adaptive ways to manage and tolerate distress and create a therapeutic experience tailored to your unique and specific needs. With the understanding that we are social beings, I use a psychodynamic or interpersonal framework, allowing us to explore how previous relationships have impacted how we understand ourselves and relate to others. I also incorporate cognitive behavioral tools and strongly advocate for mindfulness and meditation, which will help you cope and manage acute distress. At the same time, we address the underlying factors contributing to your concerns. Through this process, I hope we can create a path that is right for you.
