Sonja Shavers

I studied at Florida State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitative Services and a Master of Social Work degree. I later acquired the Education Doctorate with an emphasis in Multi-Cultural Education from Georgia Southern University. I am also certified as a Health Educator. I am a Personal Wellness Strategist who uses a holistic approach while empowering clients toward health and wholeness. I am passionate about empowering youth, women, families, and the aging population to rise through challenges towards resilience, insight, and strength using evidence-based practices. Together, we will develop a plan of action, identify potential barriers and create a path for sustainable change. We will consider how your environment and physical health may impact your social/emotional, and mental health. I also have certification as Food over Medicine Specialist. My experience spans 25+ years and includes treating youth and adults in hospital settings, home health agencies, nursing homes, and outpatient behavioral health. My background also has experience as tenured faculty in undergraduate/graduate level social work and psychology in Georgia and Florida.
