Shariq Refai, MD, MBA
Psychiatrist
Board certified psychiatrist with experience helping elite athletes master the mental side of performance and recovery.
I’m Dr. Shariq Refai, a board certified psychiatrist with over a decade of experience in adult mental health and sports psychiatry. I serve as the medical director of shrinkMD, a virtual practice designed to deliver elite psychiatric care with discretion and flexibility. I’ve worked with NFL players, coaches, and teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars, and I bring that same high performance lens to my work with Olympic and professional athletes. Trained across Hawaii, and Texas, I take a biopsychosocial approach. I consider how your biology, psychology, and environment all interact to impact your mental health and performance. Whether you’re navigating injury recovery, burnout, or just seeking a mental edge, I offer evidence-based, stigma-free care that meets you where you are. Licensed in multiple states, I provide secure, virtual sessions designed around your schedule and lifestyle.
